Mr. Jones and the Waterloo Boy
This is a photo taken near Utica, Nebraska around 1919. It is the first relatively straight (not altered) vintage photo that I've selected for a limited edition and for my Picture-Story a day blog. It is one of the historic photos from the Russell Richmond Collection -- the wonderful archive left to my care by my very talented grandfather, Russell Richmond, an early photographer of rural and Victorian era life. This one features a Mr. Jones and his Waterloo Boy tractor during repairs by the side of the road. Waterloo Boys, it seems, were the precursor for John Deere.
Alongside the straight photo, I've included a picture of a commission I did including this photo in a photo collage. I'm always happy to do more commissions.
