Circus Elephant Boy

Circus Elephant Boy

I love the tiny glimpse of the boy with the sun in his hair, almost hidden among the many elephants who are setting up a circus tent in a field in Indiana, ca. 1930. I just finished reading, "Water for Elephants," and this picture reminds me of the book. Great book, by the way. Here the boy is guiding the elephants in their work, using a bull hook on the trunk of the one elephant, barely visible. The elephants are busily setting up the tents and the boy seems fearless among them.
